Welch Connects Over 200 Local Jobseekers with Employers Looking to Hire at Annual Job Fair
WESTCHESTER, Ill. – House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch helped hundreds of local jobseekers meet with potential employers and get a leg up in the search for new and higher paying jobs at his annual job fair last weekend.
“I know the challenges people are facing every day, and I know that every day shouldn’t feel like a struggle,” Welch said. “That’s the job I’m doing in our Capitol, by fighting to cut everyday costs and expand opportunity. I also want to be a resource for people in our community, and my job fair is one way I’m doing that. I’m incredibly grateful to every employer and vendor who didn’t just fill tables, they opened doors, shared opportunities and gave people a reason to believe in what’s possible.”
Welch’s job fair brought together more than 200 jobseekers and representatives from dozens of local businesses and government agencies actively looking to hire. Additionally, attendees were able to receive assistance in writing and polishing resumes, and resources for people who have recently lost work.
