Welch to Connect Seniors, Veterans with Health and Affordability Services at Resource Fair this Saturday

WESTCHESTER, Ill. – House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch will help connect community members with services aimed at making every day more affordable, helping people stay healthy, and improving the quality of life at his Senior and Veteran Resource Fair this Saturday, November 7. The free Resource Fair runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Proviso Mathematics & Science Academy, 8601 W Roosevelt Road in Forest Park.

“We owe so much to the seniors and service members who have given themselves to support those around them. But we know those are also the people who are hit hardest by Washington’s affordability crisis and extreme budget cuts,” Welch said. “In Illinois we’re moving in a better direction, because we shouldn’t have to choose between a responsible state and a compassionate state—we choose to be both. That starts in Springfield with state budgets that fund lifesaving services, and continues in our community as we connect people with those services one-on-one.”

Speaker Welch’s Resource Fair will offer seniors and veterans direct access to local service providers and informational presentations on resources available through non-profits, state agencies, health providers, and more. Attendees can also receive free health screenings, and vaccinations for the flu and COVID-19. Presenters and service providers will be on hand from 10 a.m. until noon.

Free lunch, bingo, and prizes will follow from noon until 2 p.m.

Please contact Welch’s constituent service office at 708-450-1000 for more information.
